Fact: 1. Bootcamp CANNOT support multiple disk for windows. 2. If Delete EFI partition, leopard CANNOT access Windows' disk 3. Windows must be installed on hda1 or last MBR-visable partition, namely, hda4. hda1 is EFI. So windows must be installed on hda4.
Preparation: 1. DVD of MacOSX Tiger 2. Backup Mobile Hard Disk (say MHD) 4. An empty MHD (say MHD2) 5. Dmg of MacOSX Leopard 6. CD of Windows XP SP2
1. Use Partition Magic to partition MHD2 into one NTFS 10GB and unformatted remaining space. Copy Dmg to MHD2. 2. Run Ubuntu Live CD to backup hda1 WinXP, hda2 Data1, hda3 Data2 to MHD. Live CD can support NTFS. 3. Install MacOSX Tiger Boot from DVD. (Press Alt(Option) during the boot process). 3.1 Before installation, use Disk Utility to partition the disk into only one partition HFS+. 3.2 Install 4. Use Disk Utility to format the unformatted space to HFS+ in MHD2. And Load DMG in MHD into this new space in MHD2. 5. Install MacOSX Leopard from MHD2. (Press Alt(Option) during the boot process). 5.1 Before installation, use Disk Utility to partition the disk into 4 partitions: hda2 Data1 HFS+ hda3 Data2 HFS+ hda4 WinXP FAT hda5 MacOSX HFS+
Here set Data1 and Data2 in the format which isn't accessed by windows in order to force WinXP to install on hda4. Notice: hda1 EFI is hidden in Disk Utility 5.2 Install Leopard into hda5 MacOSX 6. Install Windows XP 6.1 Choose hda4 WinXP to install with NTFS (quick) format 6.2 Install (Copy the installation files). 6.3 Reboot Press Alt (Option) to enter Windows Partition. Make sure you can boot Windows successfully. 6.4 Intercept the install process. 7. Run Ubuntu Live CD to restore hda4 WinXP to MHD.
